ALTARES DE RESISTENCIA: Rembrance is our Sacred Resistance
As part of the Muertos en Westwood Street Festival, we are proud to present this year’s community art show, “Altares de Resistencia: Remembrance is our sacred resistance.”
This exhibition will be held from November 7th to November 9th at the Hecho en Westwood Galeria & Community Space and will also be available online through the Hecho en Westwood Online Galeria.
“Altares de Resistencia” invites artists and community members to create works that honor those who came before us and confront the borders that seek to divide us. Through diverse creative expression, we transform remembrance into an act of power — honoring our ancestors and affirming that holding on to our stories and traditions is itself resistance. The works featured in this exhibition explore migration, identity, and the sacred power of remembering as a collective act.
