Entre Dos Mundos: A Celebration of Life and Death
As part of the Muertos en Westwood community celebration, we are proud to present the community art show, "Entre Dos Mundos: A Celebration of Life and Death." This exhibition will be held from October 18th to November 17th at the Hecho en Westwood Galeria & Community Space and will also be available online through the Hecho en Westwood Online Galeria.
"Entre Dos Mundos" invites artists and community members to explore the cycles of life and death. Through various forms of creative expression, we aim to honor those who have passed while reflecting on the meaning and impact of death in our lives. The works featured in this exhibition honor the memories of loved ones, explore the transition between worlds, and draw inspiration from personal experiences and ancestral stories.
This art show is part of our Muertos en Westwood community celebration, culminating in a three-day street festival from November 1st-3rd along Morrison Rd.

The background mural in this graphic, titled “Tres Etapas de la Vida,” was created by Julio Mendoza as part of his artist residency in last year's Muertos en Westwood celebration. Inspired by the Mayan mask "Mascara de las Tres Etapas de la Vida," it represents the three stages of life: birth, adulthood, and the end of earthly life.
