2022 will be the 10th annual Frida Kahlo - A Celebration of Life & Resistance event in Westwood. This event is more than the commodification of Frida and her image and instead represents Frida as a person and her ideology. It is an annual event that is put on by the community and for the community and focuses on Frida as a radical artist and political activist. This year there will be two components to the Frida Celebration. The first is a community focused event with an art show, local vendors, food, live music, aztec dancing, a Frida fashion show and more. The second component will be the “Festival del Mole” featuring different variations of mole from local community and professional chefs. / 2022 será el décimo evento anual Frida Kahlo: una celebración de la vida y la resistencia en Westwood. Este evento es más que la comercialización de Frida y su imagen y, en cambio, representa a Frida como persona y su ideología. Es un evento anual organizado por la comunidad y para la comunidad y se enfoca en Frida como artista radical y activista política. Este año habrá dos componentes en la Celebración de Frida. El primero es un evento centrado en la comunidad con una exhibición de arte, vendedores locales, comida, música en vivo, danza azteca, un desfile de modas de Frida y más.
